Objectives: Trip Leader Candidates – as a tabletop exercise – must prepare a trip plan that demonstrates an understanding of chart data, simple course plots, weather, tides, currents, and group abilities.
Course Applications and Suggestions: Trip Planning is an opportunity for Candidates to take the other knowledge and technical learning and combine it for a trip plan that meets the environmental conditions with the group abilities and interests. Candidates will develop and implement a trip plan (including float plans and safety contingencies)
We’ll cover this topic on the water and in the outdoor classroom. Candidates will have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to plan a safe and enjoyable trip. One helpful three minute video is available from Paddle TV (from ACA Instructors).
