2019 Romany Surf in fiberglass with spray gel – demo (supervised use) in RiverCoast classes.  Dark blue deck with white hull and black trim.

A responsive and versatile kayak intended for the medium to large sized paddler. The entire NDK line surfs well, but the RS fills the gap for those who don’t fit in a Romany Classic or Pilgrim but prefer a shorter, quicker turning boat than the Explorer. The hull design offers high stability and the shaped foredeck allows for large feet up to size 11/12 (Europe 46,5). Designed for rough water and ease of handling in conditions. The kayak has a wider keyhole cockpit than other British made fiberglass sea kayak and has more volume in the rear compartments than the Romany Classic.

This kayak is fitted with the high performance glass seat, unless and offers extra leg room due to a raised area (knee bumps or humps) either side of the cockpit. The seat can be set higher for a smaller paddler and the raised area in the front deck can be padded if needed. The kayak has a low rear deck for easy rolling.  The keyhole cockpit provides excellent grip and control awhile allowing quick exit. The sloping bulkhead behind the seat allows the kayak to be emptied by lifting only the bow, no x-rescue is necessary.

A day/weekend kayak for the large paddler, length: 16.14 feet, width: 21.65 inches, depth: 13.39 inches, overall volume: 82.95 gallons, front hatch volume: 16.91 gallons, cockpit volume: 43.59 gallons, day hatch volume: 11.10 gallons, rear hatch volume: 11.36 gallons.
